Park City Museum: Three stories of interactive displays cover Park City’s history from its days as a booming mining town to its current incarnation as a winter sports hub. Board an original car used in the world’s first underground ski lift and learn how settlers arrived in Park City. Closed Jan.–Jan. 25, 2018. parkcityhistory.org. 

Sundance Film Festival: Jan. 18–Jan. 28, 2018. Park City transforms into a mountain Tinseltown. With luck you may spot A-list celebs. Word on the street clues you in to what’s hot: Listen in, then queue up for waitlist tickets. sundance.org/festival.

Burns Cowboy Shop: For more than a century, this Western wear shop has sold cowboy classics such as Lucchese boots, trophy belt buckles in sterling silver, and custom hats. burnscowboyshop.com.

Mountain Town Olive Oil Co. Sample balsamic vinegars and dozens of extra-virgin olive oils from around the globe, such as Persian lime and roasted walnut. Stock up on local preserves, salt, and spice blends, too. mountaintownoliveoil.com.

OUTDOORS

Park City Mountain Resort Catch the Town Lift from Main Street for direct access to 7,300 acres of skiing and snowboarding. You can also opt for a wild ride on Utah’s longest alpine coaster, a 4,000-foot elevated track with plenty of loops and dips. The toboggan-style cars can reach speeds of 30 mph. parkcitymountain.com.

Utah Olympic Park Rip through 10 turns at up to 70 mph on an Olympic-length bobsled track. Afterward, strike a torch-bearing pose for a souvenir pic at the Eccles 2002 Olympic Winter Games Museum. utaholympiclegacy.org.

White Pine Touring Buy or rent cross-country skis and snowshoes to use on groomed trails, or join a guided tour. whitepinetouring.com.

EATS AND DRINKS

High West Distillery & Saloon: Imbibe drinks such as Gunsmoke—an intoxicating combo of bourbon and mezcal with cinnamon syrup—in a former livery stable that has become the world’s first ski-in gastro-distillery. Check website for special hours during Sundance. highwest.com.

No Name Saloon and Grill: Carve out space among the barflies and ski bums to order a buffalo burger, or work your way upstairs to a heated outdoor deck—an ideal place to savor a pint of Cutthroat Pale Ale on a frigid night. nonamesaloon.net.

Wahso Order the pork belly–filled steamed buns and try the crème brûlée served in a half coconut shell. There's even a kids' menu with a series of fun "mocktails," like the Purple Pineapple, a mix of pineapple and pomegranate juices. wahso.com
