Larry Writer is an author and freelance writer based in Australia. His books include Razor, an acclaimed history of Sydney's notorious razor gangs, which won the Ned Kelly Award for the best Australian true crime book of 2001, and Never Before, Never Again, a rememberance of growing up in the suburbs of Sydney as a fan of the great St. George rugby league teams of the 1950s and ’60s. He is also the co-author of Newk, an autobiography of Australian tennis champion John Newcombe, and Pleasure and Pain, the memoir of Divinyls’ lead singer Chrissy Amphlett.
