Forced Journey is the centerpiece of the Japanese American Art Memorial in Eugene Oregon

During World War II, more than 3,700 Japanese Oregonians were confined to internment camps. Their plight is commemorated by this
life-size bronze sculpture of a child reaching out for an alighting butterfly as she awaits the train that will deliver her to a camp. Forced Journey is the centerpiece of the Japanese American Art Memorial in Eugene, Ore.
