Jackson Hole, Wyoming:
A Place to Ride High

view of the Grand Tetons near Jackson Hole, Wyoming

By Sean McCourt

For 40 years, the tram here (307-733-2292) has lifted visitors from Teton Village by the Snake River to the top of 10,450–foot Rendezvous Mountain, 4,139 vertical feet in just 12 minutes. But on October 1, the tram closes for good, making this your last chance to ride a local icon. If views from Corbet’s Cabin aren’t enough, you can sign up for guided hikes or backpacking trips in Grand Teton National Park and Bridger–Teton National Forest.
