Five hundred years after it held beer for a German nobleman, this 15th-century griffin-claw drinking horn sat in William Randolph Hearst’s private study. It goes on display, along with Greek vases, a Lalique perfume flask, and other rare artifacts, in the new exhibit Treasures of Hearst Castle opening April 13 in Sacramento at the California Museum for History, Women and the Arts.
