Have sing-a-longs or listen to comedy to reduce the stress of a journey.

“We start road trips by singing along to ‘On the Road Again’ by Willie Nelson,” says Nancy Kent of Pleasanton, Calif.

“Have a romantic dinner,” says Jodi Bella of Elk Grove, Calif.

“Make a spontaneous stop to see the local color,” says Bryan Brown of Salt Lake City.

“Show kindness to the travelers behind you,” suggests Carrie Awbrey of Saratoga, Calif. “Pay their bridge toll.”

“I laugh the miles away listening to comedians,” says Soraya Rhodes of Pleasanton, Calif.

“We guess the names of songs playing on the radio,” says Jan McDougall of Pocatello, Idaho.

“Spend 15 minutes just being in the present,” says Jeannie Battagin of Berkeley, Calif.
