Got Frogs?

Frog pin by artist Gladys Vandal

Frogs are considered good luck charms by the Haida people on Canada’s northwest coast. Eagle clan artist Gladys Vandal makes playful frog pins ($22) by weaving cedar bark sustainably grown in the town of Skidegate in the Haida Gwaii archipelago. Pick one up in the Museum of Anthropology gift shop at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, or order online.(604) 822-3440, www.moa.ubc.ca/shop.
