Dead, but full of life

sculpted skeleton musicians by Claudio Jimenez

Artist Claudio Jimenez sculpted these skeleton musicians from potato paste, peach juice, and plaster to commemorate Day of the Dead fiestas. Each November, Mexican families celebrate by setting out flowers, candles, and food as an invitation to departed relatives. Find these and other figurines at the Museum of International Folk Art in Santa Fe. $68. (505) 982-5186, www.worldfolkart.org.
