How do VIA readers get comfy in a cramped airplane? Many trade their shoes for plush socks or slippers. Others bring along earplugs, eye masks, and neck pillows. Here are some more ideas.
"Try some simple stretching exercises and twists before and during the flight," says Teresa Cliff of Tualatin, Ore.
"Request an aisle bulkhead or exit row seat," advises Tom Griffiths of Kenai, Alaska.
"Dress in layers," suggests Elizabeth Tom of Elko, Nev. "Wear a long-sleeve shirt over a short-sleeve one and those pants with zip-off legs."
"Plane air is dehydrating," says Aparna Agarwal of Folsom, Calif. "I drink lots of water and apply a generous layer of moisturizer to my face, neck, arms, and lips."
"Take along as little gear as possible," advises Roxanne Compton of Henderson, Nev. "It saves space at your feet, and you don't have to worry about securing space overhead or lugging heavy items."
