Hungry VIA readers serve up dining suggestions spanning Gold Country to San Diego, as well as their winter sports picks.
Wine and Dine in Gold Country
In your list of wine country outings [2] (January/February 2013), you totally missed the Shenandoah Valley, east of Plymouth, Calif. There are some absolutely great wineries with mind-blowing old vine zins. Once the winetasting is over, dinner at Taste [3] is in order.

Alaska's Northern Lights Talk
My husband and I have heard the Alaska's northern lights [4] (January/February 2013) "talking" on the Taylor Highway southeast of Fairbanks, Alaska. They crackled and snapped while weaving and streaking across the sky.

Disneyland's Best Sandwich?
When we returned from the Disneyland, I found your article about the best eats in the park [5](January/February 2013). I was still licking my lips from the fried green tomato sandwich at the Hungry Bear [6]. I'd get it again.

Ski Resorts in Park City, Utah
In your article about Park City, Utah [7] (January/February 2013), you totally overlooked Deer Valley Resort [8]. The premiere ski area has exceptional slopes, food, and customer service. Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Resort are good, but Deer Valley is great!

Park City, Utah
San Diego's Ethnic Enclave
What happened to San Diego's Little Italy in Around the World in 11 Neighborhoods [9] (January/February 2013)? My wife and I love Trattoria Fantastica [10] on India Street.

More to Say on Tomales Bay, Calif.
Much of the credit for protecting California’s Tomales Bay [11] area (November/December 2012) goes to the Marin Agricultural Land Trust, working together with farmers, ranchers, and citizens to keep this precious piece of earth alive and producing food for future generations.

Portland
I work for Blue Waters Kayaking [12], and I wanted to give you another tasty reason to visit Tomales Bay [11] (November/December 2012). We offer a tour called Tomales Bay Harvest Feast. You can work up an appetite with a morning paddle, then return to our Inverness headquarters for a feast featuring fresh oysters (barbequed or raw), organic cheeses from Strauss Family Dairy, blue-cheese dips from Cowgirl Creamery, and fresh breads from Brick Maiden Bakery.

Another Sweet Scoop on Honey
I’ve got more buzz on honey [13] (November/December 2012)! Bennett's Honey Farm in Piru, Calif. They offer cactus honey (my favorite), eucalyptus honey, sage honey, and many more.
