Jammer Rocks
Your article “Around Montana, He’s Called Jammer Joe [2]” (On the Road, May/June) brought back wonderful memories of our tour of Glacier National Park in August with Joe Kendall and his lovely wife, Geri. Joe’s humor and love for the area added to our enjoyment of the park. And yes, he does look good in his bear suit (see photo).

Mining California’s Gold Vein
Those looking to strike gold after reading “Eureka! Gold in the West [3]” (May/June) shouldn’t miss Nevada County, Calif. At the Empire Mine State Historic Park, visitors look down the main shaft of the richest gold mine in California history; the North Star Mining Museum has the state’s most extensive hard rock mining exhibits—and that’s just the beginning.

More Good Eats in Billings
I enjoyed “The Bright Lights of Billings [4]” in VIA’s Spring issue. Another wonderful restaurant that visitors should know about is Montico’s on Grand Avenue. Their pastas and panini taste great, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the gelato is supreme.
