After a seven-figure renovation, the century-old Hotel Shattuck Plaza in Berkeley, Calif., has an opulent new look. Marble floors, ornate columns, and venetian-glass chandeliers greet guests in the lobby. Upstairs, many of the stylishly revamped rooms boast views of the Golden Gate, San Francisco, or the Berkeley Hills.
