Nick Cave: Meet Me at the Center of the Earth

Flamboyant, wearable artworks that look like they’re straight out of a 1960s sci-fi flick invade Idaho! Chicago-based artist Nick Cave fuses Carnaval costumes, Venetian masques, and African ceremonial dress to produce Soundsuits that spark the imagination. You can examine the precise details of 40 different suits—including swaths of hand-sewn buttons, rows of twigs, vintage metal toys, and sinewy synthetic hair—during the exhibit’s final stop. With luck, you may even see Ballet Idaho bring the suits to life around town.
