Forget boring broccoli and commonplace cauliflower. As early as 600 B.C., Chinese emperors knew what the truly royal vegetable was: eggplant. Today this purple delicacy is the star of Loomis’s annual all-day festival, making a majestic appearance at dozens of food booths and in cooking demonstrations. The art venue located in the train depot features paintings and jewelry from local artists.
