Christian Marclay’s Video Quartet

Maria Callas. Jimi Hendrix. Marilyn Monroe. These three legends never collaborated in real life, but they join a host of other greats in a mesmerizing synthesis of sound and cinema at the Cantor Arts Center. The 13-minute, four-screen video collage has been painstakingly researched, edited, and synchronized by a Swiss-American artist whose works have been displayed at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Centre Pompidou in Paris, as well as won him a Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale.
