The minimalist production opens with group of young soldiers from the eponymous Scottish regiment in a pub, swapping stories from Iraq. From there, a jarring series of vignettes recreates real accounts of war. Originally performed by the National Theater of Scotland, the show feels just as relevant on U.S. soil as the American Conservatory Theater portrays a poignant—and often disturbing—depiction of the war of terror. It's also a rare chance to visit San Francisco’s National Guard Armory.
