In 1952, dancer and choreographer Amalia Hernández traveled around Mexico to observe traditional dance forms, noting every foot stomp and clap along the way. This fall, the 65-person troupe Ballet Folkórico de México de Amalia Hernández showcases her work on a 60th-anniversary tour [1]that visits Arcata, San Rafael, Davis, Chico, and Modesto, Calif., as well as Las Vegas and Salt Lake City.
