This dog-sledding bonanza dates back to 1917, when Tud Kent and his five faithful pooches trudged through a blizzard for 55 miles to emerge victorious in Ashton. Today, you can participate in a two-day, 100-mile race named after him, or choose from 45- and 60- mile routes. Less experienced visitors might want to try the all-ages 100-yard “Mutt Race” with their pets, or hang back altogether to watch the race.
