In 1911, two expeditions attempted what seemed a near impossible task: to become the first humans to reach the South Pole. One team returned alive; one didn't. Race to the End of the Earth at Idaho Falls' Museum of Idaho recounts the harrowing journeys of lead explorers Roald Amundsen and Robert Falcon Scott on the coldest spot on earth. Relive their quest for glory through original photographs, artifacts, interactive exhibits, and dioramas, including one inspired by another Antarctic expedition undertaken in the winter of 1911 to collect emperor penguin eggs for scientific study.
