Crafting a Continuum: Rethinking Contemporary Craft
670 Julia Davis Drive
Stitched quilts and plastic beads? Not exactly. Idaho's Boise Art Museum aims to shake up the staid image of handicraft in Crafting Continuum: Rethinking Contemporary Craft. From a pop art-influenced ceramic rabbit meant as a critique on consumerism to a full-size bicycle covered in fibrous vine, the exhibit offers 63 modern pieces in which artists transform materials such as wood, fiber, and ceramics into innovative works of art.
