Although his love of the outdoors was developed in the flatlands of the Everglades and the Florida Keys, Paul McHugh had no difficulty suggesting snowy, mountainous places to take kids in "Sierra Snow Play." Ski mountaineering and sea kayaking (he won a surf kayak world championship with Team USA in 1988) are among his passions. Currently the outdoor editor for The San Francisco Chronicle, Paul is also the editor of Wild Places, a book about North American journeys, and author of The Search for Goodbye-to-Rains.
