Behind every VIA article there's an intrepid reporter risking sunburn on an exotic Tahitian cruise, indigestion on San Francisco's best food tours, and over-exfoliation in the West Coast's most relaxing spas. These are the men and women who lived to tell the tale.
Author of a story on New Mexico's annual October Balloon Fiesta, Jay Heinrichs says that when he was the deputy editor for Outside magazine based in Santa Fe, he'd often see colorful hot air balloons floating through the sky whenever he made the drive to Albuquerque.
He also wrote These Magic Moments, a story about a Disney cruise. Jay's son, George Heinrichs, (shown with him in this photo) accompanied him on the Magic and wrote our sidebar, "George's Ship Facts."
Jay has also written a book: Thank You for Arguing: What Aristotle, Lincoln, and Homer Simpson Can Teach Us About the Art of Persuasion.
