Posted on January 27, 2011 by VIA Staff
Hwy. 1 is a wondrous stretch of road, covering nearly all of coastal California. A particularly fertile stretch can be found between Pacifica and Santa Cruz, just south of San Francisco. Writer Bill Fink explored the area for VIAmagazine.com. Here are some bonus featurettes from his time on the coast.
- Hanging with the elephant seals: A trip up Hwy. 1 is not complete without a stop at Ano Nuevo State Park.
- Berries, berries, berries: The Swanton Berry Farm offers everything a berry lover could want, and then some.
- Stand up, fall down: Our author takes to a paddleboard in Half Moon Bay. Or at least tries to.
- Brews and views: The Half Moon Bay Brewing Company offers beer and remarkable views
—in more ways than one.
