This nine-inch plaster statue of Pinocchio served as a model for animators who created Walt Disney's 1940 feature-length cartoon. The figure—and 1,600 other items, from the first Mickey sketch to movie cameras—is displayed beside screens showing film clips at the new Walt Disney Family Museum, which opens October 1 in the Presidio of San Francisco.
