David Sharp is a journalist based in Portland, Oregon. His articles have appeared in Health, Hippocrates, Consumer Reports, Cooking Light, Bicycling, Reader's Digest, Sports Illustrated, Oregon Home, McCall's, New Age Journal, Women's Sports & Fitness, USA Today, and USA Weekend. His work has won the Jesse H. Neal Award for Editorial Excellence, presented by the American Business Press, and the Maggie Award for Best Feature Article, given by the Western Publications Association.
His career includes 10 years as a contributing editor at Health and Hippocrates. He's been a columnist for Eating Well and Redbook magazines. He's also worked as a staff editor at Consumers Union (publisher of Consumer Reports and Consumer Reports on Health) and Whittle Communications (where he launched new magazines and edited existing ones, including Special Report, Health Digest, and America). In addition, he co-authored Six Months Off: How to Plan, Negotiate, and Take the Break You Need Without Burning Bridges or Going Broke (Henry Holt).
