Russ Rymer
Russ Rymer is a freelance journalist, book author, and editor whose articles have appeared in
The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, the New Yorker, Atlantic,
Harper's, Mother Jones, and other publications. His first book,
Genie, a Scientific Tragedy, won a Whiting Writer's Award and was a finalist for the
National Book Critic's Circle Award. His second, American Beach: a Saga of Race, Wealth, and
Memory, was a New York Times Notable Book of the Year and a finalist for the Los Angeles
Times Book Prize. His editing received a National Magazine Award in 1989. In 2003, he was
awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship. Rymer traveled to
Vancouver, B.C.,
for VIA
and reported back on the sights and highlights of British Columbia's biggest
city.
