Stephen Madden

Stephen Madden

Stephen Madden had his interest in limnology (the study of bodies of fresh water) whetted "far above Cayuga's waters" in New York's Finger Lakes region, first as a student at Cornell and later as editor of Cornell Magazine. He brought this pool of knowledge to his article on the effects of tourism on Lake Tahoe . Stephen is now the editor of Outdoor Explorer magazine ("Real Adventure, Real People") and the father of a baby boy, Luke Thompson Madden (talk about a real adventure).

Stephen headed for Hawaii and discovered that the ancient art of
feather craft is flourishing in Waikiki.
