Bil Gilbert

An ardent naturalist as well as a prolific writer, Bil Gilbert has been covering the natural sciences for such publications as Smithsonian, Sports Illustrated, and Audubon for years. He snorkeled with the stingrays in the Sea of Cortez and journeyed by train to the rim of the spectacular Copper Canyon for his recent VIA article, Exploring Mexico's Wild Side . In addition to compiling a wide body of writings, Bil also founded the American Society of Crows and Ravens. He spends many winter evenings contemplating them from his Hagerstown, MD home.
