Paul first saw Alcatraz during a family a vacation when he was ten. Not knowing it had been a prison, he imagined it was a magical castle in the Bay. But he was even more intrigued when he discovered the island's history. Originally from Pennsylvania, Paul has lived in San Francisco fifteen years and has visited Alcatraz five times. He recommends the night tour as it's uncrowded, and you can imagine the sights and sounds of "The Rock," when it was filled with some of the country's most notorious criminals.
